Built for Operations That Cannot Afford Downtime

In a crushing and screening plant, the vibrating screen is often the last piece of equipment before product goes to stockpile or further processing. When it stops performing, the entire operation feels the impact. Feed backs up. Crushers cycle on and off. Loadout slows down. Yet many operators have learned to live with screens that drift out of spec, develop cracks, and consume bearings at an alarming rate.

The XY Vibrating Screen comes from a different place. It is the result of watching what actually happens to screens in the field and redesigning every component that causes trouble.

Getting the Vibration Right

Screening performance depends on getting the amplitude, frequency, and direction of vibration to work together. Too little energy and the bed stratifies poorly. Too much energy and particles bounce instead of passing through. The XY Vibrating Screen uses a dual-excitation approach to hit the sweet spot. An eccentric shaft generates the primary vibratory force. Eccentric blocks add a secondary component. The combination produces a vibration that is strong enough to lift heavy beds of stone and controlled enough to achieve accurate separation.

This matters because material conditions change. A load with high moisture content behaves differently from dry material. A feed with more fines behaves differently from one with mostly oversize. The dual-excitation system adapts to these variations better than single-source designs.

Building a Screen That Does Not Crack

Look at enough failed vibrating screens and a pattern emerges. Cracks almost always start at welds. The heat from welding changes the microstructure of the steel, creating a zone that is harder and more brittle than the surrounding metal. Under vibration, cracks initiate at the weld toe. Each cycle drives them deeper.

The XY Vibrating Screen removes the welds from the side plates. Assembly uses HUCK rivets, which provide strong clamping force without heat. The plate edges are hemmed to distribute stress evenly. No welding means no heat-affected zones and no built-in crack starters. The side plates keep their original strength and ductility for the life of the machine.

Finite element dynamic analysis guided the design of the entire frame. Engineers mapped stress distribution under full load and reinforced every high-stress area. The result is a frame that stands up to continuous vibration without developing fatigue damage.

Manufacturing That Protects Your Bearings

Bearing failures are rarely the bearing's fault. Most trace back to misalignment caused by poor manufacturing tolerances. If the bearing housing bores are not perfectly concentric, bearings will run hot and fail early regardless of their quality.

The XY Vibrating Screen solves this with precision manufacturing. The whole screen body goes onto a gantry boring and milling machine. Side milling and hole boring happen in one setup with one set of datums. The bearing housing bores come out aligned.

The housings themselves are special. Ordinary steel wears under vibration, allowing the bearing outer race to spin. Once that starts, the housing is finished. The XY Vibrating Screen uses bearing housings cast from a proprietary alloy steel that resists this wear pattern. Housings hold their shape. Bearings stay seated.

Lubrication That Cools Instead of Cooks

Grease is the default choice for vibrating screen bearings, but it has a hidden cost. Grease holds heat against the bearing surfaces. It traps wear debris in the grease pack. Over time, the grease degrades and takes the bearings with it.

The XY Vibrating Screen uses thin oil instead. Oil carries heat away from the bearings. It flushes out contaminants. It creates less friction. A labyrinth seal keeps the oil in place even under heavy vibration. The combination more than doubles bearing life compared to grease-lubricated designs.

Small Details That Add Up

The 20° deck angle was chosen because it works across a range of materials—steep enough to move large stone, shallow enough to screen fines effectively. Rubber composite springs replace steel springs, cutting noise and smoothing the ride. The tripod structure separates the screen body from the base frame, making installation easier and transport simpler.
